Spring Match

Donations matched now!

Every dollar you give to the Wisconsin Humane Society is being matched by some incredible friends right now, up to $75,000! All you have to do is make your donation NOW and it will have double the impact on animals in need. Animals like Lexie...

At two years old, Lexie was found running loose, limping dangerously close to the road. She was unable to use her back leg, and her entire body trembled in fear as rescuers attempted to coax her to safety. The 15lb pup was terrified and in pain when she was brought to the Wisconsin Humane Society for help. Her left rear leg was scraped and swollen, with X-rays soon revealing a fragment of her bone dislodged near her knee. We gave her medication to ease her pain, antibiotics to prevent infection, and put her on strict bed rest, but the leg proved to be beyond repair – Lexie would need amputation surgery to give her any hope of a pain-free life.

Lexie laid low through the first days of her recovery and still trembled when we’d approach. But before long, her incision was healing beautifully and we saw a whole new dog… now bouncy, excited, and eager to join staff on short walks, Lexie was truly flourishing. We can’t imagine how much pain she must have been in before, but that weight had finally been lifted and she was thrilled to have a new lease on life. Today, she is thriving on three legs and is completely adored by her dad – all thanks to supporters like you.

Over the course of a year, thousands of animals come through our doors. They require varying degrees of treatment, from simple vaccinations to life-saving surgery and extended periods of therapy. As animals heal and await adoption, we’ll meet whatever other needs they have, too. But as you can imagine, the expenses really add up! We're hoping that you'll consider making a donation to offset our medical costs for animals like Lexie.

Any gift you give NOW will automatically double in value - and impact - for animals in need. Thank you so much!

Special thanks to Virginia Kress for matching donations made to our Green Bay and Door County Campuses up to $35,000 and to our anonymous donor matching donations made to our Milwaukee, Ozaukee, Racine, and Kenosha Campuses, up to $30,000. We are also grateful for a $10,000 matching gift in honor of Delia and Nelly, two wonderful shelter kitties.
