Alicia was one of 132 dogs who were recently rescued from the Ridglan Farms breeding and research facility. Upon examination at WHS, our vets discovered she has advanced mammary cancer that appears to have spread to her lungs. The current prognosis leads us to believe Alicia likely needs hospice placement with someone who can fill the remainder of her days with all the love and wonder she's missed out on. Her adopter should be prepared to establish a care plan with their vet soon after adopting, and will need to give her a lot of patience as she adjusts to her new environment. Despite everything, she remains gentle, affectionate, and eager for the chance to experience life as a cherished companion. If you'd like to meet Alicia and see if she's a good fit for your family, please visit the WHS Milwaukee Campus during our adoption hours!
More about the Ridglan Beagles:
These dogs are not accustomed to life outside of cages and will need extra patience and positive reinforcement as they adjust to their new homes. Their adoptive families will be provided with helpful resources and guidance to support a successful transition. To keep them secure during transport, they are required to go home in a crate and Weiss Walkie leash, which is included in their adoption fee. With a gentle approach, lots of love, and plenty of time to acclimate, we know these dogs will build incredible bonds and let their true personalities shine in due time!
