Hop is a kitten who is still learning that the world can be a safe place. Right now, he's a very fearful boy and can become defensive when approached-he may hiss when he feels scared or overwhelmed, especially in new or stressful situations.
Because of his current level of fear, Hop will need a calm, patient home that understands shy cats and is willing to give him plenty of time and space to adjust at his own pace. He is not a social "right away" kitten, but with consistency and a quiet environment, he may slowly begin to build trust over time.
Hop has shown that he is not yet comfortable with close interaction and will hiss to communicate his need for distance. He will need an adopter who can respectfully read his signals and work gently with him as he settles in.
For his comfort and safety, we recommend a home without children under 5 years old.
