About the Wildlife Rehabilitation Center

The Wisconsin Humane Society’s Wildlife Rehabilitation Center is a busy urban wildlife hospital and resource center. Our team of licensed wildlife rehabilitators, seasonal interns, and a dedicated group of volunteers serve thousands of animals each year and support even more people by providing assistance to those who encounter wildlife in need.

Many of the creatures we care for are familiar backyard animals, such as Gray Squirrels, Red Foxes, Northern Cardinals, and American Robins, but we also care for many creatures unfamiliar to most people, such as Least Bitterns, Black-throated Blue Warblers, Northern Saw-whet Owls, Common Nighthawks, and many, many more. Some of the animals and birds we receive are even endangered or threatened species, like Peregrine Falcons, Caspian Terns, Yellow Rails, and Big Brown Bats.

Through our wildlife hotline, we help more than 12,000 callers each year to understand wild animal behaviors and provide them with the information they need to humanely and effectively prevent or resolve these conflicts.
