Comments from the foster – Toco is a very special cat. He's clearly had a rough first few years of his life and it's left its mark on him both physically and mentally, but he has amazed me every day with his bravery and his capacity for trust even when he is clearly afraid. All he wants is love and connection(and maybe also a snack if you think he's been a really good boy) and providing that to him has truly been such a joy. He's like the love interest in a gritty romance novel – he's big and tough-looking on the outside but under that grizzly exterior is a tender soul who, despite being hurt before, is still hoping to find that special someone (or someones) with whom he can share the huge amount of love he has in his heart. It might take a bit of gentleness and a smidge of patience but I can promise that Toco is well worth the effort!
