From the foster parent:
Meet Girl: small, shy, and bursting with more love than she knows what to do with.
Girl is kind of like Winnie the Pooh's Piglet. She may be a little timid at first, a little unsure of this great big world, but underneath that bashful exterior is a heart absolutely overflowing with affection. Like Piglet, she is proof that the smallest, softest souls often love the biggest.
Girl might start off wide-eyed and cautious, but she is warming up faster every day, and she is desperate to show you just how sweet she is. She purrs nonstop, practically the moment you walk in the room, and she will chatter away to greet you like she has been waiting all day just to say hello. She loves being pet, adores being brushed, and is the most enthusiastic biscuit maker you have ever seen, (seriously, she uses her front AND back paws and it's the cutest thing ever).
When she is not soaking up affection, you will find her snoozing on her Mylar pad, watching Cat TV on YouTube, or happily scratching away at her scratch mat. Like Piglet, Girl is gentle, tender, and endlessly devoted. She does not need much. Just a calm, patient person willing to give her a little time and space to decompress and fully come out of her shell. Once she trusts you, she is yours completely.
Girl would thrive in a quiet, calm home without a lot of commotion, where the pace is slow. She's ready to retire in a home where she can enjoy the life of luxury, love, and relaxation she so deeply deserves. She is a sensitive soul who does best when things stay predictable and gentle, so she can settle in at her own speed. This is her chance to relax into the life of love she has been waiting for. She is ready… She just needs the right person to notice her.
Are you ready to welcome this sweet, love-filled tuxedo girl into your home? She will reward your patience with purrs, biscuits, and the kind of loyal companionship only a Piglet can give. Email megansfostersmke@gmail.com to schedule a meet-and-greet or to learn more.
5 reasons to adopt an adult/senior pet (like Girl!):
1. They'll help you slow down. We live in a busy world, and a cat like Girl understands the importance of taking it easy and enjoys a slower pace with lots of rest and relaxation.
2. They are independent and know their manners. Since she's learned the ropes already, Girl will remain perfectly content without supervision while you work from home or go out and about.
3. You'll know what to expect. While the personalities of kittens change as they grow up, personalities of adult animals are fully formed. That doesn't mean adult cats can't learn; in fact, they can be amazingly adaptive.
4. They'll be forever grateful. It can be more difficult for some pets than others to adjust to losing their homes, and adult/senior pets know what they're missing when they end up in a shelter. All Girl needs to know is that she's safe and cared for again, and she'll love you forever.
5.You're helping an animal in need. All animals in shelters need loving homes, but the demand is particularly high for adults/seniors. Deciding to help a cat like Girl means you're helping an animal in need, all while enjoying the many perks that come with bringing an older pet into your home."
