    Kids Night Out

    What better way to end the week than by making friends with other animal enthusiasts and meeting animal guests? Kids Night Out is for kids in grades 1-6 and provides an opportunity for parents or guardians to enjoy a Friday evening to themselves while the kids have an awesome time at WHS. Themes and crafts are always changing so even if you’ve attended before, there will be something new to enjoy!

    Kids Night Out takes place one Friday each month from 5 – 7 p.m at our Milwaukee, Ozaukee, and Racine Campuses during the school year.

    Kids Camps

    Ignite your child’s curiosity and compassion with engaging, hands-on camps at the Wisconsin Humane Society’s Milwaukee, Ozaukee, and Racine Campuses! Each one custom-designed for animal lovers from grades 1-9, our programs offer unique opportunities to explore animal care and behavior, participate in engaging activities, and make new friends along the way. Whether your child dreams of working with animals or simply loves spending time with them, our camps create meaningful, memorable experiences.

    Our youth programs are more than just a fun experience; proceeds from each camp registration benefit the animals and families served by the Wisconsin Humane Society, so kids can have a blast and make a difference at the same time!

    Grades 1 – 6 | “Spring” into an awesome day of animal antics! During this one-day camp, kids will enjoy crafts, games, and meeting animal friends.

    Grades 1 – 6 | Come in from the cold and warm up with furry friends! Spend a day of winter break at this fun one-day camp for young animal enthusiasts.

    Grades 1-3 (completed by date of camp) | Enjoy a fun-filled week of crafts, games, and animal friends at WHS. We’ll cover topics like animal behavior, safety, training, and more!

  • Birthday Parties

    Birthday Parties

    The Wisconsin Humane Society offers fun-filled birthday parties for kids ages 6-12 at our Milwaukee, Ozaukee, and Racine Campuses! These convenient packages take care of all the party details so you can just bring your guests and enjoy. We’d love to party with you!

    • Prices are for up to 10 children, including the birthday child, and four adult chaperones. You can add up to four additional children for $10 per child (maximum per party is 14 children and five adult chaperones).
    • All guests must be at least 6 years old to attend. (Siblings of the birthday child under the age of 6 may attend at no additional charge.) We are unable to accommodate younger siblings of other guests. Thanks for your understanding! 
    • A $150 non-refundable deposit is required at the time of booking and applied to your balance.
    • Parties are 2 hours long and held on Saturdays from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. or 1 p.m. – 3 p.m. at our Milwaukee, Racine, and Ozaukee Campuses.

  • Field Trips

    Field Trips

    The Wisconsin Humane Society offers both in-person and virtual field trips for students K4 – Grade 12 at our Milwaukee, Ozaukee, and Racine Campuses. Our field trip lessons align with state and national standards and can be tailored to accommodate the needs of your students. Our team would love to work with your class!

    In-person field trips accommodate a maximum of 60 students. The cost is $50 for the first 30 students, and an additional $2 per student beyond 30. This includes a virtual behind-the-scenes tour to watch with your class prior to your visit, an on-site tour of our adoption area, a fun lesson that aligns with your educational goals, and a chance for your students to meet an animal. Field trips last approximately one hour and are offered on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays each week.

    Virtual field trips are $50 for school groups and can host up to 60 participants. This online option includes a virtual behind-the-scenes tour, a live virtual tour of one of our animal adoption areas with a chance to see some animals, and a live virtual lesson of your choice.     Field Trip Topics & Curriculum

    For students in K4 through Grade 2

    Literacy, Science 

    This lesson blends literacy with information about the Wisconsin Humane Society for a fun, cross-curricular program. Students will listen to a story read aloud, learn about how WHS takes care of animals, and visit our Adoption Avenue (either virtually or in-person) to see the animals waiting for new homes and meet a furry friend.

    Science, Health

    Animals and people are more alike than we may sometimes think! Animals may not speak with words, but they have other ways to communicate how they are feeling. Students will use their observational skills to help decipher the language of companion animals and learn how to safely interact with them.

    Learn about all of the rewarding careers at an animal shelter. Students will hear directly from staff in a few key roles about the skills and experiences needed to enter their career field.

    Get the scoop on what it takes to be a veterinarian, what to expect on the job, and what makes shelter medicine unique. Students will also learn about other career options in the animal field, as well. Students will participate in a veterinary science activity to see firsthand what a vet may do during a typical day.

    Girl Scout Nights

    Currently offered at the Milwaukee, Ozaukee, and Racine Campuses

    Learn all about animals and the work we do to find them loving homes at Girl Scout Night! Available for K5 through grade 12, this program includes content to view ahead of time, along with an interactive in-person event at WHS that engages Girl Scouts in our mission.

    Before your visit, take a virtual behind-the-scenes tour to prepare for your troop’s in-person experience. Your troop’s reservation includes access to digital content with level-focused activities that outline everything Girl Scouts need to complete their badge or journey. 
    During your visit, you’ll learn more about how WHS cares for animals, meet an animal friend, and take a stroll around Adoption Avenue. Exclusive Wisconsin Humane Society patches are available for purchase at the time of registration.

  • Story Time

    Story Time

    We’re excited to offer Furry Tales Story Time at the Wisconsin Humane Society’s Milwaukee, Ozaukee, and Racine campuses!

    This FREE program is designed for children ages 2-4. Furry Tales Story Time includes heartwarming animal-themed books with an extra special twist: your little ones will also meet an adorable animal at WHS!

    Registration is encouraged, but not required. There is a limit of 3 children per adult.
