Every dollar matters at a time when veterinary expenses continue to rise, which not only affects families with pets, but organizations like WHS, too. As we continue to strive to bridge gaps in accessing care for pets already in loving homes through a variety of services, your support of animals like Sadie ensures that we’re always a safe landing net for those who need us. All their hopes for healthier, happier futures depend on caring people in our community.
Even a single light will make a real difference for animals and the people who love them. Together, we can ensure that Hope’s Lights will shine bright for another day for animals like Sadie…

She was eight years old when she arrived at the Wisconsin Humane Society. We welcomed the sweet senior with open arms, and she returned the favor with endless wiggles Sadie’s owner loved her deeply, but they had personal health issues that made it difficult to access care, and they turned to WHS for rehoming support. During her initial health exam, our veterinary team discovered a concerning mass on her head that would need to be surgically removed and tested for cancer.
Thankfully, her surgery was successful AND she was cancer-free! By then, her foster mom knew this temporary guest was going to become a permanent family member. “She just fit in so seamlessly that it was hard to picture her going somewhere else.”
We are so glad to know that the love-filled life Sadie has always known continues, and are endlessly honored by the trust of families who turn to us when the future is less than certain. Thanks to generous supporters like you, animals like Sadie can find healthy futures, happy homes, and hope for a brighter tomorrow. It all starts with you!
