Kitten abused by kids recovering at WHS

The day after Thanksgiving, a kind gentleman walked into the Wisconsin Humane Society cradling a one-month-old kitten. Our hearts broke when we saw that she was sneezing and bleeding from her swollen nose. The man had seen some kids throw the young kitten against an alley wall and he jumped in to save the little one from further harm. Unable to keep her himself, he brought the kitten to WHS to ensure she’d get the full recovery and loving home she so deserved. Despite her injury, she was friendly, playful, and inquisitive. We decided to name her Muffin.

After a few days of treatment from our veterinary team, she transitioned into a foster home to recover in a peaceful, nurturing environment. While it’s tempting to dwell on the cruelty that befell her, we must focus only on what we can control: creating a brighter future for this sweet kitten.

Would you consider making a contribution of any size to support Muffin and other animals in need of emergency care? You can also make a contribution in honor or memory of someone special and send them an eCard to let them know.

WHS is a local non-profit which receives no general government funding and is not a part of any national organization – that means it’s no exaggeration when we say: we simply couldn’t care for these animals without you. Whether it’s $5 or $50, your support makes a world of difference to kittens like Muffin.
