Contact Info: 920-591-0818
Current Location: Coleman, Wi
Is Arlo spayed or neutered? yes
Is Arlo up to date on vaccinations? yes
Why the animal is being rehomed: I believe Arlo would thrive if he was away from his Alpha brother who dominates.
What are your two favorite things about Arlo? He is beautiful, gentle, intelligent and very curious.
How long have you had Arlo? 6 months
Where did you get Arlo? Through this rehoming site.
Has Arlo ever bitten someone? No
What, if any, medical or behavioral concerns does Arlo have? Is not a lap cat. I believe he is capable of bonding in that way, because there has much progress since I removed him and his brother from what seemed to be a neglectful audition which allowed them to be feral. When I received them at 1 1/2, they had not been spayed and I don't believe they were handled as kittens
Has Arlo lived with other animals? Yes
If yes to the above, which animals has Arlo lived with? His brother
Has Arlo actively fought with other animals in the home? No
Does/did Arlo hide from other animals in the home? No
How does Arlo interact with animals outside of the home? Doesn't go out of the home
Are you requiring that Arlo not go into a family with certain types of pets? Yes
If yes to the above, please explain which types of pets you are restricting: I think he would bond with the owner best if he was alone
Has Arlo lived with any children under 18? Yes
Arlo has lived with children of these ages: 12, 10, 10, 3
Does/did Arlo hide or avoid children in the home? Yes
If yes to the above, please explain the circumstances: Yes when the kids are real active, but sometimes Arlo was relaxing around all of us and sometimes playing with the kids.
Does/did Arlo display any forms of aggression toward children in the home? No
If yes to the above, please explain the circumstances: Although he doesn't like to be reached out to yet, but he does come around to sniff and check me out. Did not respond this way six months ago.
Are you requiring that Arlo not go into a family with children under a certain age? No
Does Arlo have any fears? I would not allow Arlo to go outside because this would hinder any bonding with the owner. The previous owner never had him outside once. He does not even try to go out. The kids didn't shut the door all the way and when we came back home, He and his brother were sitting in the house looking outside. He does fear you reaching out to touch or capture him at this point, but is so much better. I believe he and his brother might have been locked up before.
Arlo's overall activity level: Moderately active
How does Arlo usually get exercise? Playing indoors, Other,
What should the next family should know about Arlo: Even though he wasn't neutered till I got him at a year and a half, he took very well to how late this took place and I have not had one incident. He uses the litter box. He likes the covered one and I would send that with him. From what I read about Bengals and the difficulties with bonding when there is multiple cats, I feel Arlo will flourish when he won't have his brother stealing his food, stealing his toy, when I do sit on the floor and talk to him, the brother comes running to steal the attention. Arlo doesn't fight, he just walks away. I feel sorry for him.
