Is Misty spayed or neutered? yes
Is Misty up to date on vaccinations? Not Sure
Why the animal is being rehomed: I inherited two cats, and I cannot afford to care for two cats, nor do I have enough time to give her the attention she needs and deserves.
What are your two favorite things about Misty? She's a sweetheart. Almost never refuses pets, and doesn't expect me to pick her up. Prefers to be on her own four feet actually.
How long have you had Misty? I've had her a few months, but i herited her from family, so she's been a non-constant for a few years before that.
Where did you get Misty? Inherited her from my older sister, who inherited them from an old room mate.
Has Misty ever bitten someone? No
What, if any, medical or behavioral concerns does Misty have? Her weight, and a susceptibility to bladder stones. She needs food that is gentler as well as having wet food added into the mix. She's too chunky to reach her anus, so she'll need a little help sometimes to keep it clean back there.
Has Misty lived with other animals? Yes
If yes to the above, which animals has Misty lived with? She's lived with other cats. One, a male, around the same age as her, the other a kitten that she watched grow up, very sweet with the kitten. Tried to be sweet with the adult cat but he fought her.
Has Misty actively fought with other animals in the home? No
If yes to the above, please explain the circumstances: The other cat was more of a loner and prefered to fight with her, if he wasn't leaving her alone completely. If she approached him for grooming, it usually ended in her fleeing from an attack.
Does/did Misty hide from other animals in the home? No
How does Misty interact with animals outside of the home? N/aHas never encountered animals outside the home.
Are you requiring that Misty not go into a family with certain types of pets? No
Has Misty lived with any children under 18? No
Does/did Misty hide or avoid children in the home? Yes
If yes to the above, please explain the circumstances: Babysat 4 children between the ages of 8 and 2. She tolerated them, but when they started being a bit to rough she excused herself to another side of the room.
Does/did Misty display any forms of aggression toward children in the home? No
Are you requiring that Misty not go into a family with children under a certain age? Yes
If yes to the above, please list your restrictions: She would do much better with children over the age of 3/children that can and will be gentle with her. She loves attention that feels good.
Does Misty have any fears? Loud constant noises, like vacuums. She'll run from sounds like these.
Misty's overall activity level: Sedentary/low energy
What should the next family should know about Misty: She's honestly a sweet old lady looking for a furever home. If you have the time to love her, and don't mind a chatty, slightly needy cat, she might be for you. Also, during the warm months I set her down in the backyard amd she had a great time exploring, harness training may be something to look into. She also hates being picked up, it's like she doesn't feel stable. Her claws come out when she is picked up, but not to purposely scratch, but to secure herself from falling. If you need to attempt it, do so with long sleeves.
