FOX6 Milwaukee to host Wisconsin Humane Society Pet Telethon on Friday, March 23
MILWAUKEE – The Wisconsin Humane Society (WHS) is excited to announce an inaugural telethon to benefit homeless animals in the community! The 2018 Pet Telethon will be broadcast live on FOX6 News (WITI-TV) in Milwaukee from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. on Friday, March 23, reaching an audience of about 175,000 viewers.
“We’ve been long-time supporters of the Wisconsin Humane Society and are thrilled to partner with them on this event. Animals and live television – it doesn’t get much better than that!” said FOX6 President and General Manager Chuck Steinmetz.
In addition to live in-studio segments, Carl Deffenbaugh from FOX6 will be broadcasting live from the WHS Milwaukee Campus during Real Milwaukee.
“This may just be the cutest telethon in all of history,” said Angela Speed, vice president of communications at WHS. “We’ll have a puppy play pen at the studio, several animal guests, and of course, share amazing stories of how lives have been transformed by the donations that support this work.”
The goal is to raise $75,000 to help the 40,000 animals WHS serves each year. WHS does not receive any general government funding and is not part of any national umbrella group.
Generous sponsors include: FOX6 Milwaukee, Hupy & Abraham, Stein’s Garden & Home, FIS, Greenfield Veterinary Clinic, Wisconsin Veterinary Referral Center, Noodles & Company, The Equitable Bank, and Yellow Wood.
