Boogie - Staff Pick!

Staff Pick!
Boogie is a handsome gentleman with awesome round cheeks :) He's finished his great adventure in the outdoors and is ready to settle down as a spoiled housekitty. He likes to flop over and make air biscuits, and loves chin & cheek scritches- maybe a belly rub if he likes you! Come in and meet this sweet man today!

This cat tested positive for FIV. FIV is virus spread between cats usually through bite wounds. Casual contact such as living with other cats sharing litter boxes and bowls has not usually been found to be a means of transmission. Cats in households where housemates do not fight are at little risk of contracting the disease. If this cat goes to a home with other cats, a very slow introduction is recommended to determine if cats will get along prior to comingling. Cats with FIV can live a normal lifespan but due to the virus affecting a cat's immune system, infected cats are more susceptible to secondary infections from bacteria, viruses, protozoa and fungi. This cat should be kept indoor only to not only prevent the spread of virus to other cats but also to prevent exposure to infectious agents that may make him sick. The owner/guardian should be prepared for lifelong health monitoring and working closely with their veterinarian. Any further care or expenses related to this condition are the responsibility of the owner/guardian.

Please Note

Every animal is an individual and WHS works hard to make great matches for our animals and adopters.  Some animals may have placement restrictions or requirements established by WHS based on shelter observations and previous home histories.  When meeting with your adoption counselor, they review each animal’s medical, behavior, and placement needs with you to help you find an animal who is compatible with your home environment and your lifestyle.  There are no time limits at WHS, all animals in adoption have as long as it takes to find a new loving home.  Stop in and speak with our adoption counseling team today – we look forward to meeting with you.
