Opossum - Available from Foster!

Opossum is a great 8-year-old cat who would like nothing more for the holidays than to have her own person and her own place. She has been in foster for 8 months and, although not unhappy, she would prefer her own person and home. She is a very nice cat - timid, but very friendly once she knows you. She likes to sit on the back of the couch or on the couch arm just to be by you. She knows the house routines - canned cat food twice a day, head scratches and back rubs daily and happily returns to her foster room in the evening once her time out of the room is up. She would really enjoy an adult-only home and someone who has some time for her, but she is hardly high-maintenance. She would do just fine in a studio apartment with a person who works out of the house full-time. She doesn't like other cats (hisses at mine, otherwise her foster mom would adopt her), small children and probably not dogs. In her previous home with other cats, she had litter box issues, but no issues in her foster home with her own room. If you wish to meet her, please e-mail linda.elmer@yahoo.com

Please Note

Every animal is an individual and WHS works hard to make great matches for our animals and adopters.  Some animals may have placement restrictions or requirements established by WHS based on shelter observations and previous home histories.  When meeting with your adoption counselor, they review each animal’s medical, behavior, and placement needs with you to help you find an animal who is compatible with your home environment and your lifestyle.  There are no time limits at WHS, all animals in adoption have as long as it takes to find a new loving home.  Stop in and speak with our adoption counseling team today – we look forward to meeting with you.
