Corporate Volunteer Opportunities

Thank you for thinking of the Wisconsin Humane Society for your group volunteer project! We love to have organizations or co-workers volunteer their time with us in support of our mission.

Guidelines for Corporate Opportunities

  • Volunteers must be 18 years old.
  • Group volunteer opportunities do not involve working with the animals. For safety reasons, and to ensure that their daily needs are met, only trained volunteers with scheduled shifts work directly with the animals. Rest assured that your volunteer support will help our companion animals as they await their forever homes.
  • We can accommodate up to 10 individuals for group volunteering.

Options for Corporate Opportunities

The most helpful group volunteer project for WHS are groups that are willing to hold donation drives for WHS. Since WHS receives no general government funding and we are not affiliated with any national animal welfare organization we depend on our community support to fund our lifesaving work with both in-kind donations and monetary donations. We can send you materials to support your groups fundraising efforts, and we would love to host your group for a tour of the shelter and thank you in person for the amazing efforts. This is a fantastic way for groups to get involved and make a huge difference in the animals’ lives at the shelter. Below are some suggestions. Looking for more ideas? Please see our Fundraising Tool Kit.

  • Create a team & walk in our Tails on the Trail walk/run for animals
  • Supply Donation Drive
  • Monetary Donation Drive
  • Bake sale
  • Garage sale
  • Sell dog treats
  • Holiday party with suggested donation to WHS
  • Silent auction or raffle with proceeds to WHS
  • Chili cook-off for donations per entry or vote to WHS
  • Taco or nacho bar at work for donations to WHS
  • Car wash
  • Book sale
  • Gift wrapping for donations to WHS
  • Loose change as donation jar/ Penny War
  • Set up “Casual Friday/ Jeans Day” at work (employees donate to WHS and then get to wear jeans on Friday)
  • Collect old cell phones at work, school, etc. & bring them to WHS (WHS receives funds for recycling them!)
  • Car wash
  • Book sale
  • Gift wrapping for donations to WHS

Once your fundraiser is complete, your group (limited to 10) will be hosted at WHS with a tour of the shelter and some cuddle time with a furry friend!

If you’re unable to host a fundraiser for WHS, please consider signing your corporate group up to join us for Tails on the Trail 5k Run/ 1-Mile Walk for the animals! Last year's run/walk attracted more than 1,700 people and raised more than $176,000 for the animals. This event has almost double in size for us each year, and we are really hoping 2016 will be our biggest year yet meaning that we could have a really huge impact for the animals. This is such a fun event, and this year we have 88.9 sponsoring with their DJ services, dog agility course, lure course, games, prize wheels, and adorable dog fashion show and so much more! It is a really great option for a company morale/teambuilding experience and of course there are furry friends everywhere at this event. Create a team today!
