What are your two favorite things about Nala? SNUGGLED AND PLAYTIME
How long have you had Nala? 1 year
Where did you get Nala? Milwaukee Humane Society
Has Nala ever bitten someone? No
If yes to the above, please explain the circumstances: Nala has never bitten a person, however, she has bitten another dog. Nala escaped when a friend opened the door, letting her slip out unbeknownst to anyone. She ran up to another dog and bit it several times, leaving puncture wounds and a gash in the hind leg.
What, if any, medical or behavioral concerns does Nala have? Nala has shown aggression towards other dogs. While on the leash and seeing another dog, the hairs on her back will rise and she will get very excited. She used to pull on the leash and now just gets really excited. Anyone willing to take Nala must know Nala is most likely going to be labeled a dangerous dog because of these circumstances. Some city ordinances prohibit these dogs while others have guidelines for these dogs.
Has Nala lived with other animals? No
Has Nala actively fought with other animals in the home? No
Does/did Nala hide from other animals in the home? No
How does Nala interact with animals outside of the home? Nala gets really excited when she sees another dog. Sometimes she will howl, bark, and in general get very excited. We have brought Nala to the dog park and she likes to run up to other dogs, although, they generally want nothing to do with her. We have, at times, had successful play dates with Nala - she loves them (!) but other dogs do not because she can be aggressive. Most times when we try to have a play date, Nala gets way to aggressive and she needs to be separated. If there are no dogs around, or squirrels or rabbits running by, Nala will gladly heel at your side.
Are you requiring that Nala not go into a family with certain types of pets? Yes
If yes to the above, please explain which types of pets you are restricting: Nala cannot have other dogs with her given her behavior.
Has Nala lived with any children under 18? No
Does/did Nala hide or avoid children in the home? No
Does/did Nala display any forms of aggression toward children in the home? No
Are you requiring that Nala not go into a family with children under a certain age? Yes

Does Nala have any fears? She gets scared of baths, but which dog doesn't!
Nala's overall activity level: Very active/high energy
How does Nala usually get exercise? Daily walks, Playing in fenced-in yard, Playing indoors, Canine sports (agility, lure course, flyball, frisbee, etc),
What should the next family should know about Nala: Nala is a sweet pup and has been a beautiful addition to our home. We are so saddened to have to re-home her, which is our last option before performing a behavioral euthanasia. We hope to find Nala a companion who is willing to dedicate themselves to them and experience the joy and love Nala has brought us. Nala needs to have thorough training on her behavior challenges with other dogs or be strictly confined from other dogs. Our fence has worked great when it comes to this. Nala's next family should be willing to work with her through the tough times and experience the love she had brought us.
