Store Policies

Animal Antics

One of the features of each WHS campus is our Animal Antics retail store, and we also offer an online store with thousands of items at shop.wihumane.org.  Our goal is to offer products that are safe, unique, high quality, and to make the animals in your life happy and healthy.  We strive to keep our pricing in line with other pet stores, but the biggest difference is that by shopping with us, either in-store or online, ALL proceeds go right back to helping more animals at the Wisconsin Humane Society.

Returns & Exchanges

In-store Purchases:

Customers have 30 days from the date of purchase to return or exchange purchased items. All returns and exchanges must be accompanied by the original receipt. We can attempt to find your receipt in our records if you know the exact date and time of your purchase.

Items that a customer wishes to return must be in ‘like-new’ condition, and must include all original packaging and accessories.

Items damaged or destroyed by chewing, scratching or other ‘wear and tear’ cannot be returned. Certain items may carry a manufacturer’s guarantee, but customers should contact the manufacturer directly for instructions in those cases. Items that are deemed to have a manufacturing defect or error may be returned or exchanged.

For credit card transactions, any refund must be issued as a credit back to the original credit card. For check transactions, we must receive authorization from our Accounting Department that the check has cleared in order to issue a cash refund. This will typically not be possible until at least 10 days after the original transaction.

Online Purchases:

In the event you need to return or exchange an item from an online purchase, please call 414-431-6105 or email anticsorders@wihumane.org for a return authorization. Upon return of the product we will issue a full credit for the total of items returned, but cannot refund the original shipping charges. Returns must be made within 15 days of receipt of your order.

Unused products: Within the 15 day return period, you may return unused products for a full refund. Items must be returned in the original undamaged packaging. Purchasers are responsible for shipping costs back to our store. We will refund your total purchase price--no deductions will be made for restocking.

Used products: We cannot accept returns on items that have been used or are missing the original packaging.

Damaged products: If your order arrives damaged or in any other unique case, please email anticsorders@wihumane.org with your situation and we will help to resolve it.

Shipping

Shipping costs are determined by real-time estimates by the shipping provider as well as your choice of speed at checkout. Your order may be divided into multiple shipments, but this will not impact the shipping cost.  Depending on the shipment, we may use USPS, FedEx or UPS.

Orders over $69 will receive free ground shipping.

Shipping times are estimates and while we will make every effort to meet the stated time, we cannot predict delays based on weather, stock, etc.

Cancellations

If you wish to cancel an order, you may do so within one day of placing the order.  Cancellations must be made by telephone to 414-431-6105 or via e-mail to anticsorders@wihumane.org.  Some print-on-demand or other orders cannot be cancelled once started, but we will make every effort to work with you on a reasonable solution.

Pick Up Only Items

Some items in our online store are listed as “Pick Up Only” items.  We will hold these items for 3 weeks from the order date and if they are not picked up within this time frame they will be returned to our general inventory.  If you come to pick up the items after this time we will honor your order as long as the items are in stock. If they are not in stock we will order them for you and give you a new pick up date.

Sales Tax

For in-store transactions, the rate is based on the location of the WHS campus. For online transactions shipping to Wisconsin, the rate is based on the sales tax rate where the order will be delivered. Orders shipped out of Wisconsin do not have sales tax added.

Privacy Policy & Security

The policy at the Wisconsin Humane Society is to respect and protect the privacy of our users. The only personal information we collect is supplied directly by you to place an order. The information is used solely to process your request. We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to others.

The page on which you enter your credit card is encrypted using Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) technology, the standard for secure Internet transactions. To verify security, you should be able to see a picture of a small lock in the address bar of your browser.

Mail Orders

We do not typically accept mail orders, but if you have a special need or request, please email anticsorders@wihumane.org and we will do our best to accommodate.

Payment Options

For in-store purchases at any WHS campus, we accept cash, personal check, Visa, Mastercard, Discover, and American Express cards, as well as prepaid or debit cards carrying the logo of any of those brands. We also accept Apple Pay, Google Pay, or Samsung Pay through your smartphone or smart device. 

For online purchases, we accept the same major credit/debit cards as above, as well as Apple Pay, Google Pay, Shop Pay, Meta Pay, and PayPal.

Catalog Option

We currently do not offer a printed catalog. We do add new products frequently and hope you'll check our website often or stop in a campus near you during adoption hours!
