Over 100 Cats to be Spayed or Neutered on Spay Day

MILWAUKEE – There are many compassionate people with big hearts and a strong desire to help Wisconsin’s most at-risk companion animals; these people are coming together at the Wisconsin Humane Society on February 26.

Ten compassionate area veterinarians and ten veterinary technicians will be donating their time and talents to spay or neuter a goal of 120 cats on Spay Day through the Wisconsin and Ozaukee Humane Societies’ Spay Neuter Assistance Program. SNAP is designed for individuals who understand the benefits of spaying or neutering their animal but cannot afford to do so. Altering cats reduced animal overpopulation and helps prevent animal suffering. Spaying or neutering cats also produces beneficial side effects, such as lowering the risk for developing certain cancers.
