Wisconsin Humane Society Receives Grant from
Pedigree® Adoption Drive and American Humane Association
MILWAUKEE – The Wisconsin Humane Society announced that it has received a $19,000 PEDIGREE® Adoption Drive™ Grant from the American Humane Association. The grant enables the shelter to install new dog lodging kennels that are specially designed for animal shelter use.
The PEDIGREE® Adoption Drive™, which took place in February 2007, was designed to encourage dog adoptions. Leading pet food manufacturer PEDIGREE® generously offered to match $250,000 in donations to American Humane, which has awarded many grants to shelters and breed-specific rescue groups across the country. Grant recipients are using the much-needed funding to purchase equipment and undertake projects that improve the quality of life for animals in their care and encourage adoptions.
The Wisconsin Humane Society (WHS) is an animal welfare organization whose mission is to build a community where people value animals and treat them with respect and kindness. WHS provides temporary animal shelter to thousands of stray, abandoned and injured animals each year. WHS is the largest animal shelter in Wisconsin.
