Wanted: Mature Adults Looking for Companionship!

Milwaukee, WI. – In celebration of May being "Older Americans Month," the Wisconsin Humane Society wants to unite mature adults with our equally experienced companion animals. We will be having special events and promotions this entire month to promote our senior animals! We will be having “Early Bird Specials” on Wednesday, May 3 and May 17 from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. There will be coffee and pastries served, therapy dog demos, tours and time spent with some special WHS companions. Tours will start promptly at 9:40 a.m.

Any person over 60 years old who adopts any animal over 7 years old can enjoy the following promotions:

• Special adoption fee for cats and dogs.

o Dogs over 7 years; the fee is $62.00.
o Cats over 7 years; the fee is waived.

• Every adoption includes a copy of the book, “Your Aging Pet: Making the Senior Years Healthy and Rewarding.”
• Be entered into a drawing to win gift certificates from local businesses.
• Special promotions in the Animal Antics store, including 20% off select scratching posts and our Jurassic Bark package for senior dogs.

Senior animals are truly special. They don't have the training demands younger animals may have; they bond quickly and will return your love tenfold. The health and emotional benefits of living with an animal are well-documented and extend beyond the companionship that they offer; lowered blood pressure, faster recovery from illness and a renewed zest for life.

If you are looking for a companion, please visit the Wisconsin Humane Society to see if we can find you the perfect match.
