Our Birds!
MILWAUKEE
– An estimated 100 million to one billion
birds die annually in the United States due to window
collisions. The Wisconsin Humane Society's WIngs
(Wisconsin Night Guardians for Songbirds) Volunteer
Bird Collision Monitors (BCM) will be taking to
the streets beginning September 1 in the wee hours
of the morning at designated tall buildings in Milwaukee
to help save injured birds and collect dead birds
for documentation.
Members of the
media are invited to get footage of a Volunteer
Bird Collision Monitor. To find out the location
of a BCM, please contact Scott Diehl, Wildlife Manager
