MEDIA ADVISORY/PHOTO OPPORTUNITY

NASCAR Racing has Gone to the Gerbils

MILWAUKEE – The Milwaukee Mile may feature NASCAR racing favorites like Jeff Gordon or Elliott Sadler, but the Wisconsin Humane Society has its own version of NASCAR: Nibbling Adorable Small Critters are Racing. Start your engines and race over to WHS on Saturday, October 1 for fast-paced drives and sharp turns as gerbils race toward the finish line. NASCAR races will occur from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. every 30 minutes.

The NASCAR races will kick off “It's a Small World, After All” at WHS. Throughout the month of October people can name Homeless Hoppers, a litter of five rabbits who don't have a name to call their own. The individuals whose names are chosen will win a gift basket of gift cards. People can submit a name on WHS' web site at www.wihumane.org or by visiting WHS, Pet Supplies Plus (76 th and Layton or N. Port Washington Rd. stores) as well as McPets ( North Ave. location) until October 31. WHS will also celebrate small animals by offering small animal-related product discounts in Animal Antics, the retail store in WHS.
