Camp Critter: Not Your Typical Children's Summer Camp

MILWAUKEE ? If you ask a child what a typical day at summer camp entails, among the favorites may include swimming, hiking and boating activities. But what about interacting with animals ranging from companion animals to an owl and falcon?

The Wisconsin Humane Society's Camp Critter is a one-day summer camp for children ages 8 to 11 featuring a variety of animal-related activities including training dogs, socializing cats and learning about wildlife. Twelve camp enrollees will also participate in crafts, games, a shelter tour and even have the opportunity to meet some of the animal guests at WHS. The camp will be held for two days: July 21 and August 18 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Wisconsin Humane Society.
