CALENDAR OF EVENTS LISTINGS

 

MILWAUKEE – Ring in the New Year with a resolution that helps both you and your companion animal. Register for a class or seminar at the Wisconsin Humane Society and help shelter animals at the same time!

CAT BEHAVIOR SEMINAR
Learn how to tame the tiger in your house by participating in a Cat Behavior Seminar to be held Tuesday, January 15 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. WHS Training Manager, Kim Rinzel, M.S., will discuss feline care, training and behavior. The cost to attend the seminar is $10, which includes a $5 certificate to Animal Antics, the retail store located within WHS.

DOG BEHAVIOR SEMINAR
Ever wonder why your dog circles his food bowl before diving in? Sign up for the Dog Behavior Seminar to be held Thursday, January 10 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. During the seminar, WHS Training Manager, Kim Rinzel, M.S., will discuss dog behavior and training, problem prevention and problem solving. The cost to attend the seminar is $10, which includes a $5 certificate to use in Animal Antics, the retail store located within WHS.

RABBIT BEHAVIOR SEMINAR
Ever wonder if Thumper truly benefits from all those baby carrots? You can learn the answer to this and other rabbit-related questions during a Rabbit Behavior Seminar, which will be held on Tuesday, January 24 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Learn about rabbit care, behavior, training, problem solving, problem prevention and more. A $10 fee for this seminar includes a $5 certificate to Animal Antics, the retail store located within WHS.

STOP THE PULLING! A LESSON IN LOOSE LEASH WALKING
Does your dog take YOU for a walk? Are you tired of being embarrassed in front of the neighbors due to your dog’s lack of good walking manners? If so, it’s time for you to bring your dog to the "Stop the Pulling!" workshop on Monday, January 14 from 6:45 p.m. - 7:45 p.m. There is a $20.00 fee and a limit of 8 dogs for this session, so register early.

COMING WHEN CALLED
Does your dog run everywhere but to you when you call him to “come”? Dogs learn to ignore this important cue for a variety of reasons. “Coming When Called,” held on Sunday, January 13 from 1:30 p.m. - 2:30 p.m., will introduce guardians to methods for successfully and reliably getting their dog to come when called. We will focus on positive techniques using reward-based training. There is a $20.00 fee and a limit of 8 dogs for this workshop so register early.
