Top Gifts
for Your ValenTAIL
MILWAUKEE
?Love is in the air?and Valentine's Day is just
around the corner. While many people shower their
sweetie with a romantic dinner, roses or chocolates,
some companion animal guardians express their love
by giving their furry friend gifts. The Wisconsin
Humane Society recommends the following popular
toys to make your companion animal's heart flutter.
Treats:
Of course, the number one Valentine's Day
gift is treats ? not just any treats, but ones that
are really good for your animal. The Wisconsin Humane
Society suggests showering your canine, feline or
small animal with treats that are all natural and
contain no preservatives or by-products. Although
animals cannot have chocolate, they can have carob,
a cocoa substitute.
Flowers: Keep
your furry friend smelling and looking great by
purchasing a naturally scented shampoo like lavender.
For cats, a moisturizing grooming wipe helps keep
the dander off and their coat shiny.
Rings:
Consider purchasing a new safe-cat collar
with a bell, jingle balls or a glitter ball for
your favorite feline.
Kisses:
Bring your dog Greenies, a popular treat
bone that freshens their breath and is good for
their teeth.
Teddy Bears:
The Dr. Noy's line of toys by the Kong
Company makes unique soft toys for dogs and cats.
For dogs, consider purchasing a bear with a replaceable
squeeker ? there is no stuffing to worry about.
For cats, the catnip pouch is replaceable.
All of these gifts
are available at Animal Antics, located in the Wisconsin
Humane Society. For more information, call (414)
431-6221.
