24-hour adoption event kicks off Saturday morning at Wisconsin Humane Society
Local man pledges $100 per adoption during the ASPCA® Mega Match-a-thon event
MILWAUKEE – The Wisconsin Humane Society is preparing this week for its first-ever 24 hour adoption event, as part of the national ASPCA® Mega Match-a-thon. And this weekend, they got some great news. Stan Kass of Brown Deer has pledged to match every pet adoption with a $100 donation to the WHS during the event, up to $15,000.
“Stan’s support is unbelievable. His generous heart and love of animals continues to be an inspiration to the whole community,” said Angela Speed, director of development and community relations at the Wisconsin Humane Society.
What is the ASPCA® Mega Match-a-thon 24-hr event?
WHS is one of 55 animal rescue organizations participating in the national adoption promotion, sponsored by the ASPCA. The 24-hour adoption event WHS’s Milwaukee shelter begins on March 31, running from 11:00 a.m. Saturday morning and ending at 11:00 a.m. Sunday morning. A variety of festivities are being planned.
Highlights of the event include:
- FREE gifts for all adopters
- Kids crafts & scavenger hunt
- Beverly Hills Chihuahua will be shown FREE for families at 7:00 p.m. Saturday
- Puppy Pajama Parade – begins Saturday night at 10:10 p.m. sharp
- Wii/Just Dance Tournament begins at 11:00 p.m.
- Anyone adopting in pajamas 1:00 a.m. – 4:00 a.m. receives a 25% adoption discount
- CJ from Astor Studio will be hosting DOGA (yoga w/your dog) at 8:00 a.m. Sunday; FREE registration is
required
Join in for the fun at any time! WHS’s goal is to find homes for 150 animals, and they can’t do it without community support.
