$2500 REWARD OFFERED IN DOG BURNING CASE

MILWAUKEE - The Humane Society of the United States (HSUS) is offering a $2,500 reward for anyone coming forward with information leading to the arrest and conviction of persons responsible for the recent burning of a dog in Milwaukee.

The Wisconsin Humane Society (WHS) contacted HSUS to ask for their support in this case. The two organizations are not affiliated, but are both invested in creating a community that treats animals with respect and kindness.

“We hope someone comes forward with information about the perpetrators of this abhorrent crime,” said Anne Reed, WHS Executive Director. “Animal abuse is unacceptable in all forms and as a society, we need to take animal crimes seriously. Not only did this dog suffer terribly, but research finds a compelling and strong link between animal abuse and violence against humans. Only by taking animal abuse seriously can we make the community safer for all of us.”

Anyone with information about the incident should call the Milwaukee Police Department tipline AFTER noon Friday at 414-935-7235.
