Hey, kids! Be part of the fun of learning about helping animals as a member of the Wisconsin Humane Society's Kids' Club called the Gosling Guild. You'll be able to do fun activities as part of the team that cares about animals and our environment.
A gosling is a baby goose. Goslings are one of the many orphaned baby animals cared for in the WHS Wildlife Rehabilitation Center each spring and summer. Gosling Guild members will learn about goslings and the many other wild animals that make our state a home, and get lots of fun facts about dogs and cats.
If you are between the ages of 6 and 14, you can become a member of the Gosling Guild! There is an initial fee of $10.00 to join the club. Scholarships are also available. Then you can learn dozens of ways that other kids are helping animals, the shelter and the environment. As a member of the Gosling Guild, you will receive a personalized Gosling Guild certificate and a special T-shirt. The WHS magazine, Critter Chronicles, will feature a special Gosling Guild page, where kids in the Guild will be featured. The WHS will also host an annual Gosling Guild recognition event at the shelter. This special party will include recognition for outstanding Gosling Guild members, tours of the shelter and refreshments. You'll get to meet WHS veterinarians and wildlife rehabilitators and hear stories of special animal rescues. You'll meet some furry friends at the shelter and be a special ambassador for our planet. Join the Guild now! For more information or to receive a Gosling Guild application call Dezarae Jones Hartwig at 414-431-6159 or e-mail your name and address to Dhartwig@wihumane.org. |
