2009 Be Kind to Animals Celebration

WHS Friend, Bridget Kirkish and Jane Matenear from 99 WMYX presented this year's awards.

Be Kind to Animals Week was started in 1915 by the American Humane Association and serves as a reminder of the debt humankind owes to animals, both wild and companion. Every spring, the Wisconsin Humane Society sponsors a contest in which local children illustrate ways to be kind to animals.

Below are photos of this years talented winners at this year's celebration, as well as adults who were honored for their contributions to animals. Three very special dogs also received hero awards.
