Be Kind to Animals Week 2004 is May 2nd-8th. Be Kind to Animals Week was started in 1915 by the American Humane Association, and marks a beginning of the national humane education movement. It serves as a reminder of the debt humankind owes to animals, both wild and domestic.

Every year the Wisconsin Humane Society sponsors a poster contest in which local area children illustrate being kind to animals. Below are some of the winning posters for this year. (Click on the picture to see a larger image.) See the 2003 winners of the BKA poetry contest.
