The Hank Fund

On Saturday, September 13, the Wisconsin Humane Society was presented with a check for $130,000 from the Milwaukee Brewers Community Foundation. We couldn't be more grateful to the Milwaukee Brewers, Hank, and the incredible fans for making this donation possible. That evening, the crowds turned out in droves for Bobblehank, and there was actually a line to donate supplies to WHS and MADACC! What an incredible community we live and work in. Thank you so much.

We are your #1 fans, Hank!
We have been so inspired by Hank, the Ballpark Pup. His story has not only touched the hearts of people across the country, but has truly raised awareness of the plight of homeless and stray animals in our community.

Thank you to the Milwaukee Brewers!
The board, staff and volunteers at the Wisconsin Humane Society are incredibly grateful to the Milwaukee Brewers for their compassionate care of Hank every step of his journey, and for choosing to help animals with their generous donation to the Wisconsin Humane Society

Animals need your help.
Our work depends on community support to help more than 25,000 companion and wild animals every year, and all proceeds inspired by Hank will go to help stray animals, whether they've come to WHS from MADACC (Milwaukee Area Domestic Animal Control Commission) after their stray holds are over, or have come directly into our shelters in Racine and Ozaukee Counties, where we care for stray animals from those communities.

Get a T-shirt, save lives, and look good.
With the purchase of any Hank item at the Brewers Team Store by Majestic, 20% of the retail price will be donated to the Wisconsin Humane Society. Some T-shirts are also available online here.

Learn how to prevent animal homelessness.
You can help prevent animal homelessness. Make sure your own pets are licensed and wear identification tags, and get your pet microchipped.  Enjoy long walks together, but don't let your animals run at large. Plus, cats should always be kept indoors for their own safety.  Spaying and neutering our companions also reduces roaming behavior, and helps to keep the pet population manageable in our community.  Information about these, and other important ways to prevent homelessness, can be found on MADACC’s website and on ours, too.  Hank’s story had a fairy-tale ending, but most stray dogs don’t find a baseball team!

Volunteers Needed

We are currently in high need of foster parents to care for either dogs or cats ranging in age and condition.  All you need is a little extra room in your home and heart!
