Classrooms Go WILD!

The Wisconsin Humane Society’s Wildlife Rehabilitation Center annually receives and cares for more than 5,000 injured, sick and orphaned wild animals of over 145 different species. The Wildlife Rehabilitation Center has a unique opportunity to educate young people about wildlife rehabilitation, living humanely with wildlife and how to help wildlife in their community. Classrooms Go WILD! is a wildlife sponsorship program for classrooms that gives students an opportunity to directly help the animals being cared for in the WHS Wildlife Rehabilitation Center and learn about treating wildlife with respect and kindness. To participate in the program, classrooms agree to conduct a service project to benefit the animals at the Wildlife Rehabilitation Center and in return they will receive a special behind-the-scenes wildlife tour, an opportunity to meet a wild animal in the Wisconsin Humane Society’s care and a certificate with a picture of the animal they are sponsoring . Teachers will receive additional resources and activities for their classroom. For more information, please contact education@wihumane.org or 414-431-6159.
