Feline Health Conditions

This content is solely intended for information ONLY. WHS has not noticed any signs of these diseases in an animal you've adopted unless it was noted on the adoption contract. We feel that responsible guardians should be aware of some of the common and severe animal diseases.

Animals are given an initial vaccination at WHS which helps to detect some viral diseases. It is important to continue vaccination boosters as recommended by your veterinarian as some viral diseases can be fatal; especially in young kittens.

A special note about fleas:
Fleas tend to be more of a seasonal concern being the most prevalent in the summer and early fall. A variety of products exist that can be used for treatment and/or prevention. Please discuss these options with your own veterinarian.
