Shelby arrived at the shelter covered in matts after her caregiver was admitted to the hospital and no longer able to care for her. We could tell Shelby was uncomfortable, so our team set out to free her of her painful matting. Even though she was feeling better physically, shelter life was proving to be a bit too stressful for Shelby. So we decided to place her in a foster home where she could learn to trust a few new people at a time. Shelby has been a perfect guest in her foster home. Her hobbies include cuddling on the couch, short trips outside, followed by more cuddling on the couch. Shelby would do best in a quiet household with older children. Her new guardians should understand that Shelby needs time to adjust to new environments and new people.
